Susan says she thinks she was born with a paint brush in her hand. She has painted all her life, with major distractions interspersed — marriage and 2 daughters born within 2 years, law school, judicial clerkship, simultaneous solo law practice and horse training, early retirement, and then 4 years in seminary.

In between, and sometimes during, she picked up the paintbrush, studying in Texas with Marjorie Buckmaster (watercolor), in Kansas City MO with Jim Ryan (watercolor and acrylics), and in Montana with Nancy Dunlap Cawdrey (French dye in silk).

Beguiled by the beauty all around, her brushes are seldom out of reach.
